Mother of Thousands is a succulent native to Madagascar that thrives in cactus but can withstand regular potting soil. Named for its abundance in offspring, it can be easily propogated by little plantlets growing on its edges. It may be potentially invasive in the garden if left unattended to spread. Some medicinal properties include anti-inflammation, and novel uses in premature birth and cases of infertility. Devils Backbone, as its also referred, has different chemical constituencies in different parts of its anatomy and medicinal preparations should only be made under supervision of a specialist due to poisonous compounds.
